Firestone Library
From Bananafish
The Firestone Library at Princeton University houses an extensive archive of Salinger-related materials, including letters and unpublished manuscripts. They also maintain archives of Harold Ober Associates and Story magazine content. Access is tightly controlled, with no recording devices, pens, paper, etc allowed in the room, and only valid academic uses allowed.
The library is known to contain the following unpublished manuscripts:
- The Last and Best of the Peter Pans
- The Ocean Full of Bowling Balls
- The Magic Foxhole
- Two Lonely Men
- An introduction written by Salinger for Story magazine
- The Children's Echelon is said to be at the archive as well
Salinger has reportedly ordered that the stories not be published until at least 50 years after his death.
