The Boy in the People Shooting Hat is an early telling of chapters 3 through 7 of The Catcher in the Rye. Holden is called "Bobby" here, and he fights with Stradlater over "June Gallagher". It was submitted to The New Yorker but rejected as "pretty shocking".
